One of the Russian TV programs included a fragment of a speech by Richard Moore calling on Russians to spy for London.
The head of Britain’s foreign intelligence service has thanked Russian state television for its “help” in encouraging Russians to spy for Britain.
This was preceded by the appearance in one of the programs of a translated excerpt from his speech, in which he called on the Russians to “join forces” with the British intelligence services.
TV presenter Maria Butina, herself a former Russian spy, included this fragment at the beginning of a television program about Richard Moore, the head of the British Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6.
We are talking about Moore’s July speech at the British embassy in Prague, in which he openly called on Russians who were faced with “the corruption, internal strife and gross incompetence of their leaders” to spy for Britain.
On Monday, Moore wrote on social media site X that British foreign intelligence was “struggling with how to get this message across to the target audience in Russia.”
“We never thought that Russian state television would come to the rescue,” he said, adding: “Thank you, friends!”
