Citing AFP, the head of the Indonesian delegation tested negative for Covid-19 when he departed from Indonesia. However, when he was tested in Italy on Monday (21/6), he was positive for the corona virus.

Six other Indonesian delegates are currently undergoing isolation at a hotel in the Sicilian city of Catania. It is not yet known whether any other Indonesian delegates have also tested positive for Covid-19.

The meeting of the G20 countries itself is planned to be held on Tuesday (22/6) and Wednesday (23/6). The event brought together state officials in the fields of economy and employment.

The Italian government itself is now starting to plan to relax restrictions on public activities after the transmission of the corona virus subsides. In certain areas, local people will not be required to wear masks.

The Italian government’s plan follows a number of other European countries that have eased lockdowns in their respective regions. These include Germany, Belgium and France. Public places are now allowed to operate longer than before.
