JAKARTA, solotrust.com – Indonesia is experiencing a significant spike in active Covid-19 cases. The highest record occurred on Thursday (17/6) with daily active cases reaching 12 thousand.
IDI Chairperson Daeng Mohammad Faqih highlighted asymptomatic patients (OTG) who should also receive more attention in their control and management. According to him, just breathing OTG has the potential to release corona droplets.
“The virus already exists. Even experts also say that he (OTG) has breathed (droplets),” he said during a polemic discussion on MNC Trijaya, Saturday (19/6).
Checks for OTG should also be done regularly even if he gets a negative test result. Because OTG has the potential to infect because it carries the virus without realizing it.
Even though it has been protected using a mask, there are still gaps that can be transmitted through aerosols.
Aerosols are part of the droplets that come out of the body, either from the mouth, nose, sweat. These particles have the ability to float in the air for 3 hours. So extra protection is needed from the threat of transmission through the air.
“The mask must be tightened, it must be able to protect it, if you are afraid you have to double it,” he urged.
Meanwhile, he also appealed to the government to provide new breakthroughs in controlling the corona virus by providing air filters in closed rooms used as public facilities.
“In addition to carrying out health procedures, all places should have a strategy to ensure that the room is clean of these aerosols,” he concluded.
