The inhabitants of the quiet rural Chilean commune of Quillota (125 km northeast of Santiago, Valparaíso region) are shocked after the cinematic turnaround of the assault suffered by a man, who was murdered after winning a $1,000 million prize. of Chilean pesos (USD$ 1 million) in the Lottery and go to withdraw a small part of that money. After a brief struggle, one of the assailants shot him in one of the legs to take the loot from him, causing him to bleed to death that finally ended with his death, all of this in broad daylight and to the horror of passersby.
Turnaround in the case
However, after the first investigations, the police arrested the victim’s nephew, who was accused of being the intellectual author of the assault that tragically led to murder.
The work of the PDI allowed, according to Víctor Salazar, to determine “dynamics and responsibilities that are established by the team of investigators.” The accused was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Quillota Guarantee Court.
The background of the investigation was provided to the Public Ministry and the date of formalization of those responsible is still unknown, although it is known that they will be charged under the figure of robbery with homicide.
