COURCHEVEL/MÉRIBEL – Norwegian skier Atle Lie McGrath injured his knee in Thursday’s supergiant slalom at the World Championships and will not attack for medals in slalom. According to the Norwegian team, he has already left France and gone home for examination.
Twenty-two-year-old McGrath finished fifth in the opening discipline of the combined championship, and he was the fastest in the slalom part. He won twice in the World Cup in the most spinning discipline, both championships from last winter, in the current one he was second at the beginning of January in Adelboden.
