The television audience got to know him because he appeared in the Over Throne of “Men and Women”but he is 50enne Ivan Di Stefano was reported by NAS (Anti-adulteration and Healthcare Units) of the Carabinieri to the Cassino Prosecutor’s Office “he illegally practiced the profession of surgeon in the Cassino emergency roomwithout ministerial recognition of their degree obtained abroad”. The man even worked for two months at the Cassino emergency room without being registered with the Medical Association in Italy.
Di Stefano claimed to have a degree obtained abroad with a specialization in neurosurgery, but there is no way to confirm these statements. The man found himself at the center of a random cross-check, his story probably wouldn’t have come up.
These are routine checks that take place in the healthcare sector since when the contract is signed the employee makes a self-certification with a declaration of the qualifications obtained. But Di Stefano’s qualification, which he had signed a fixed-term contract with the Frosinone Local Health Authority for 36 hours per weekobtained abroad, is nowhere to be found.
The note released by the Anti-Sophistication and Health Units reads: “The man, fifty years old, Roman and also known for some of his television appearances, is accused of having falsely declared that he had obtained a specialization in neurology and that he had obtained a degree in medicine in Ukraine, but the Carabinieri are not aware of the ministerial recognition of the title”.
