Lopetegui tar on the wolves
This spring it was reported that then Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui was one of the names on United’s wish list for managerial work, although he was by no means the favorite.
Now he will finally go to the Premier League, but Wolverhampton Wanderers, not Manchester United.
In early October, Lopetegui was sacked by Sevilla after a grisly start to the season, and a month later he is ready for Wolverhampton.
Lopetegui will take over on Monday 14 November, so he will not be responsible for his first significant match with the Wolves until after the World Cup.
Thus, the home game against United, which will be played on December 31, will be Lopetegui’s first league match at home, and perhaps even his first home game if he doesn’t get a league cup home game just before Christmas.

Friday 4th November
The former redhead takes control of the Leicester women
On Thursday evening confirmation came that the Leicester women, who have not yet taken a point in the Women’s Super League, have made a technical change.
Lydia Bedford has been fired and former United assistant Willie Kirk takes over. He comes from the position of Director of Football at the same club.
Kirk thus becomes a coach for some other former Reds in Jess Sigsworth and Abbie McManus, as well as the loaned Carrie Jones whom he will hopefully trust.
United have already played away against Leicester, in a match that ended 1-0 against United, while the home game has a provisional date on Sunday 5 March.

Gerard Piqué prepares
On Thursday night, just before United’s game against Real Sociedad begins, former redhead Gerard Piqué confirmed that he will retire mid-season. Saturday’s match against Barcelona will be the last.
The Barcelona legend has played a total of 23 games for Manchester United and has also scored two goals for the club.

– Green light for the Jimmy Murphy statue
A year and a half ago confirmed Manchester United to the planla and the statue of Jimmy Murphy.
Thursday, usually well-informed Mike Keegan writes Daily mail that United received permission to build the statue of the legendary United assistant (who also ran the club in the aftermath of the plane crash).
We previously reported that the statue will be built behind Stretford End and that it will be made from it award-winning sculptor (and United supporter) Alan Herriot.

An own goal gave Carrick his first victory
Michael Carrick made his Middlesbrough managerial debut at the weekend but had a rough start in the league when a Preston goal in injury time secured him a 2-1 away defeat on his debut.
On Tuesday night, however, things went much better in another away match, this time against Hull.
Carrick’s side won 3-1 after two Hull’s own goals in the second half.
The victory was important as Middlesbrough moved from 21st to 18th in the standings, one point from relegation.
Carrick will make his home debut against Bristol City next weekend.

Selected for the first time in the squad of the English national team
On the same day Maya Le Tissier thanked the old boss, the defender was selected for the first time in the England national team.
There he brings a total of five teammates in Mary Earps, Katie Zelem, Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Nikita Parris.
England will meet Japan and Norway in private international matches on 11 and 15 November.

Le Tissier thanked the old boss
Maya Le Tissier was brought in from Brighton ahead of the season and on Monday news came that manager legend Hope Powell will be leaving Brighton.
Le Tissier posted the following message on Twitter:

Colman and Hughes were born on this date
November 1, 1936 became Eddie Colman Born. Colman played 108 games for the club and scored 2 goals, and was a very popular “Busby Babe”.
Colman died in the plane crash in Munich, aged just 21.
On the same date in 1963, Mark Hughes Born. United fans’ relationship with Hughes is not the best due to the Welshman’s managerial career, but as a player he was a hugely popular man, scoring 163 goals for United in 467 games – and many of those goals were important, spectacular or both. .

Butt tar for Neville i Salford City
Nicky Butt will replace Gary Neville as chief executive of Salford City, after the latter has decided to step down. Neville was the club’s chief executive for eight years.
The former footballers have been important to Manchester United and have played nearly 1,000 games in total for the club. Neville has 602 and Butt has 386.
Neville remains a co-owner of Salford City along with Butt, his brother Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs, among others.
“As the club has developed at such a pace, it needs someone who can focus on the club and be there every day, and Nicky is the ideal candidate for this job,” said Neville.
