He was killed when he was lowered from a Lyft car; he was employed by Governor Cuomo of New York

Sidney Wolf, who worked as a political adviser to Andrew Cuomo when he was governor of New York, was fatally run over when he was thrown from a Lyft car on a highway in Delaware.authorities said.

Wolf, 43, and five of his friends arranged for Lyft to pick them up from Dewey Beach early Sunday after a celebration. After a disagreement with the driver the trip was canceled and he stopped in the middle of the lane and demanded that the six passengers get out of the vehicleaccording to the police.

A driver of a Toyota changed lanes to avoid hitting the parked Lyft but did not see Wolf get out of the right rear passenger seat and fatally struck him. That 27-year-old driver pulled over, while the Lyft employee fled. No one else was injured.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision, reported Pix11. Yesterday it was reported that the Lyft driver had already been identified and was cooperating with authorities, although his name was not released nor were charges filed against him at the time.

But he was fired from the company. “We are heartbroken by this incident,” a Lyft spokesperson said. “Our hearts go out to Mr. Wolf’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and we have reached out to offer him our support. We have permanently removed the driver from the Lyft community and we are assisting law enforcement with their investigation.”

“Shocked and saddened to hear this tragic news,” he wrote. Cuomo on Twitter on Tuesday. “Sid he was a phenomenal public servant who worked tirelessly for the betterment of all New Yorkers. My heart goes out to Lindsey and her two young daughters.” both of youworked together between 2019 and 2021, when Cuomo resigned from the governorship in the midst of scandals of sexual harassment and abuse of power.

A GoFundMe page was created for Wolf’s family.
