At approximately 4:30 p.m., BOI personnel, while conducting deterrence and crime prevention patrols on the Guachochi-Yoquivo highway, arrested a person identified as Antonio MB, 29 years old.
The young man was traveling aboard a white GMC Yukon Denali vehicle, which upon noticing the presence of the authorities fled aboard the unit towards a private home, however, they managed to catch up with him.
After a search, they seized an M-16 rifle, another AR-15, four AK-47s, better known as “Cuernos de Chivo,” 39 magazines, and even a .50-caliber Barrett rifle, in addition to the vehicle in which he was traveling.
Elements of the State Public Security Secretariat, the National Guard and the Mexican Army carried out the seizure and subsequent transfer to the facilities of the Attorney General’s Office in Hidalgo del Parral, where they were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will integrate the investigation file.
Outside the FGR in Parral, a special operation was set up with at least 30 agents who are part of the Interinstitutional Operations Base to protect the place while the corresponding procedures were carried out.
In addition, at the entrances to the city, the operation caught the attention of the inhabitants due to the number of units that guarded the vehicle and the seized weapons, who traveled from Guachochi during the afternoon of this Sunday.
The detained person was identified as Antonio MB, 29 years old, who was wearing tactical pants and boots, as well as a brown shirt and was transferred aboard units that are part of the BOI.
