He wants to provoke Russia: an alley for victims of Russian aggression is being created in Poland

The Warsaw city council has renamed the pedestrian and cycle path created along Belvedere Street near the Russian embassy as the Alley of the victims of Russian aggression, Polish television channel TVN24 reported.

The motivation for the decision states that the new name is in line with the proposed position given the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.

He also claims that “the name is meant to provoke, to force the Russian state to think and act”.

55 members of the municipality voted for the new name of the alley, while two were against.

The renaming document will enter into force 14 days after its publication in the official gazette.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the streets of partner countries were renamed, the new names commemorating Russia’s bloody war against Ukraine or expressing support for the Ukrainian people.

In solidarity with Ukraine, around 20 streets and squares have been renamed or named in the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Albania, Slovakia, Norway, Canada, Hungary, Estonia, Sweden, France, Iceland, Luxembourg and the United States. in honor of Ukraine.
