Dakahlia-Rami Mahmoud:
A groom and his mother-in-law were killed and 9 others were injured, Thursday evening, in a terrible accident at the Senbellaween Center in Dakahlia.
Major General Marwan Habib, Director of Dakahlia Security, received a notification from Major General Muhammad Abd al-Hadi, Director of Criminal Investigation, stating that a report had been received by Brigadier General Ahmed al-Jumaili, warden of the Senbellaween Police Station, from the Rescue Police Department, of the death of a groom named “Muhammad Suleiman,” 26 years old, and his mother-in-law, “Nabila Ibrahim.” 39 years old, and 9 others, residents of the village of Tanbul Al-Kubra, Al-Sinblaween Center, were injured.
Transportation and examination showed that the microbus had fallen into the waters of Al-Bouhiya Canal in the area between the city of Al-Sinbellaween and the village of Al-Salam. The corpses were transferred to the morgue of Al-Sinbellaween Central Hospital, until the procedures are completed and handed over to their families.
Mustafa Al-Shorbaji, a relative of the groom, said that the latter was feeling indescribably happy and went with his family and friends to buy the net.
The newlyweds rode in an angel car, preceded by a microbus, and during the wedding procession, the last car collided with a lighting pole that fell on the road, and the mourners’ car settled in the waters of Al-Bouhiya Canal.
Al-Shorbaji added: – “The groom, upon seeing the accident, stopped the angel’s car, and rushed to the canal to save those in the car, but the fall of the lighting pole and the electric wires on the ground shocked him and he died on the spot from the electric shock.
He pointed out that the people gathered and took the microbus out of the car, and it was found that the bride’s mother had died, and 9 other guests were injured and were taken to the Sinbellaween General Hospital for treatment.
Immediately after the people of the village of Tanbul al-Kubra learned of the accident, a large number of people moved to the Senbellaween General Hospital in a state of great sadness, and the groom’s father lost consciousness, while friends and relatives of the groom entered into a bout of hysterical crying in front of the hospital.
A medical source said that the hospital conducted medical examinations for the injured, and their condition varied between fractures and suspected brain hemorrhage, and treatment is being completed and medical care is being provided to them.
A report was drawn up on the incident, and the Public Prosecution Office was notified for investigation.
