A man is said to have posed as a rocker four times and defrauded a family friend of a five-figure sum. He confessed in court, but questions remain.
A fake rocker has been sentenced to three years in prison by the Kiel district court for fraud in several cases. Four months of this sentence have already been served due to delays in the proceedings. The court found it proven that the defendant had acted with the intention of repeating the crime and making a profit. In addition, he admitted to having committed the crime but “trivialized” his actions, said the judge. An appeal can now be lodged against the verdict.
The 44-year-old had posed as a member of a biker club for years and extorted 69,000 euros from a couple he was friends with. From 2016 to 2018, he sent messages to the couple four times via the WhatsApp messenger service under the pseudonym “Cadir Öz” with demands for money in the four- and five-digit range and threats.

With the verdict, the court followed the prosecutor’s plea. The man had previously been promised a sentence of three years to three years and nine months following plea bargains. However, four to five months of this would already be considered served due to procedural delays, as charges had already been brought in the case in April 2021.
The pleadings
The public prosecutor had demanded a total of three years and six months in prison for the 44-year-old. The lawyers saw “considerable criminal energy” in the planning of the crimes as confirmed. He was also accused of violating the relationship of trust. The family lived in constant fear for their lives and their existence, it was said.
The defense, however, argued for a two-year suspended sentence. They argued that the defendant had confessed and changed his behavior. He had also tried to make amends to the injured couple. To the best of his ability, he initially transferred 5,000 euros to the couple and offered to pay the remaining amount in installments of 800 euros per month.
As a further argument for a shorter sentence, the defense attorney compared fraud and tax evasion. Since the sentences for both offenses are comparable and the district court has only imposed suspended sentences even for higher amounts of damage, a prison sentence of three years is “too long.”
Man is also said to have cheated prostitutes
The man is also said to have cheated a prostitute out of money using the biker lie. The total amount of damage, which the prosecution initially assumed, amounted to around 270,000 euros.
