A resident of Doubs was the victim ofa scam on the internet for an amount of 15,000 euros. This type of scam is well known to the police: called the “grazer” scam, it consists of targeting vulnerable and fragile people in order to extract money from them.
In that case, crooks have spotted on the web an unconditional fan of the singer Alizée who consulted many pages dedicated to the singer, explain the daily 20minutes and Republican East. They then contacted him pretending to be the artist, then “a virtual idyll was born” and the scam sets in.
The scammers then ask for money for so-called repatriate a substantial heritage from Africa and create two fake websites, “one for a fictitious notary installed in Belgium, the other for a fake bank”.
It is the family of the victim who discovered the scam: they seized justice and the gendarmerie. To alert the population and prevent other people from being robbed, the family also tried to contact the star, to no avail. “There is only Alizée who could help us put an end to this”, estimates the sister of the victim.
