He talked about his role as Chodounský in the 1990s – eXtra.cz

In the successful miniseries Devadesátka, actor Viktor Zavadil (29) took on the role of one of Petr Chodounský’s Eagle murderers. In an interview with Czech Television, the actor confided in how he approached his role and what surprised him. He also revealed what he himself had in the 1990s and what fascinated him in the 1990s miniseries.

The 1990s series It starts at a time when you have been fresh in the world. How deep did you go in studying this time?

Fortunately, I still managed to catch the “nineties” from the so-called express train, so a little of that time remained in my head. Mainly squeaky, rubber boots, although these are probably generally attributes of childhood rather than specific times.

What do you have in the 1990s?

Floods in 97 in Moravia, plastic tablecloths and handles on the table, ubiquitous cigarette smoke. But in order to know if the 1990s had anything to do with people’s behavior, I was really elsewhere. Probably with a real robot (no screen on my stomach, unfortunately) that I got for Christmas.

How you approached the character Petr Chodounský?

From what I remember from the 1990s, I really couldn’t build on preparing for Chodounský. Fortunately, it wasn’t even needed. We see Chodounský in the 1990s at a time when he can’t handle the fear of what he’s involved in and if it doesn’t turn against him, and he decides to crack his colleagues from the Eagle gang.

And the fear as such is exactly the same today, as it was in the 1990s or 17th century. We may be afraid of other things, but that emotion is immutable. But what I wanted me to know was what I was talking about when I testified, that is, to find out the details of the Eagle Assassins case, which I actually only knew from the film Velvet Murderers and briefly remembered the case from the media. I was surprised, for example, by Chodounský and Black connection with escape Jiří Kajínek.

Have you been a spectator of 1st Department Cases?

We don’t have a TV connection, so the boom over First Division cases missed me. When I then received an offer to play Chodounský, I released some parts back.

How do you like the Nineties?

I really like the 90’s so far. As a spectator, I like when it’s a closed series with fewer episodes, I tend to see those things at once, and then it takes a lot of time. The frequently discussed camera reminds me of various Commissioners Schimanski and other detective stories who were broadcast in the 1990s, and it seems like a great reference to that time. And I think I managed to create and capture the atmosphere of the 1990s somehow miraculously and magically.
