French champions Paris Saint-Germain announced on Saturday the death of their former Cameroonian player, Modesti Mbame, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 40.
Mbami has played for several French clubs; He included Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille, and won the Coupe de France in 2004 and 2006 with the French capital’s team.
Mbame scored 3 goals in 37 matches for the Cameroon national team, and was also part of the team that won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Mbami played in Spain, China and Saudi Arabia before retiring in 2016 after a short spell with Le Havre, France.
Paris Saint-Germain said in a statement: “Modisti Mbami has passed away at the age of 40 after suffering a heart attack. Paris Saint-Germain extends its condolences to his family and fans.”
