A patient receiving treatment at Pennsylvania Hospital stabbed the doctor who was treating him in Pennsylvania, United States.
According to authorities, the patient allegedly hit the caregiver in the face and head on numerous occasions, Fox News reports.
“The hospital is working closely with the Philadelphia police in relation to the event on Tuesday involving a patient and a doctor who was injured,” a spokesperson for the hospital said in a statement.
The latter added that swift action was taken by hospital employees to ensure that the victim gets the necessary treatment. The doctor has since been released from the hospital.
“At no time was there a danger for the other patients or the staff who were inside the hospital,” it says.
Authorities say they have arrested a suspect and seized a weapon in the case. The assailant’s motives are still unknown.
