Tomas Dunn, a 24-year-old young man, was sentenced after pleading guilty to shooting Saladeen Cochrane (41), his mother’s ex-boyfriend, in Harlem (NYC).

The shooting happened after Dunn ran into Cochrane, who lived a few blocks from him and had dated his mother years earlier. After starting a fight, the young man left for a short time and then returned to seduce his victim, according to court records. After firing eight shots, Dunn shot Cochrane in the back of the head as he tried to escape.

Dunn said he was wracked with “shame and guilt” for leaving the Cochrane children as orphans and said he knew firsthand “the pain, anger and sadness associated with not having a father.”
