The storm has not yet abated in Norway. There has been traffic chaos in recent days. Buses that don’t arrive wagon that is blocked more traffic accidents and mishaps.

That it will look like this over the weekend is not unlikely.

– Now there are a lot of danger warnings, says the state meteorologist at the Meteorological Institute, Iselin Skjervagen in VG.

Right now there are eight weather and wind warnings in the long country. In eastern Norway, a lot of snow and strong winds are expected in some places. Strong winds are expected in Trøndelag and Nordland – an overview here:

Low pressure activity

Skjervagen says the reason for the bad weather is low pressure activity. Even after the worst is over on Saturday, people need to be on the lookout.

– The low pressure comes from the south of the continent. On Saturday there will be mild weather in southern Norway, and then it will be smooth as a mirror. People have to be careful, because it will continue throughout the weekend.

On Wednesday and Thursday there were numerous calls from the police, Ruter, the Swedish Road Traffic Center and meteorologists. In short, you are being asked to postpone all car journeys and only ride in traffic if necessary.

Skjervagen points this out.

– At least I would. Conditions are already difficult and will continue to be so. We have seen that there has been a lot of chaos.

– Do not go out

Ruter also has appeals to people. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast and Ruter’s website.

– The weather forecast isn’t very promising for tomorrow, but we’re trying to do everything possible to make things go normally. We share the road with others, so we are also quickly influenced by them if they get stuck.

As of right now, Skjervagen doesn’t believe the danger warnings will be changed, but says there is still a possibility.

In areas where strong gusts of wind have been reported, all traffic may be affected, in addition to electricity. People are encouraged to secure loose items so they don’t fly away.

– In general, I’d say people shouldn’t go out unless they have to. It could be a difficult couple of days considering the weather.
