Expressen writes that the woman and the man met when they lived in the same asylum shelter. The man is said to have spoken several times about wanting to marry her.

On April 21, the day before the woman was found in the mine, the man went to visit the woman, and they later drove together to Örebro, writes Expressen.

District court documents show the man was previously convicted of several offenses, including drug offenses and severe illegal driving, writes Aftonbladet.
