Al-Marsad Newspaper: A YouTuber named Sinyo, who posts content about helping the homeless, succeeded in reuniting a 38-year-old Indonesian man with his family, from which he fled 25 years ago, fearing FGM, when he was 12 years old.
Sinyo revealed, in a video clip on his YouTube channel, the details of Agus’ escape from his family, saying, that he arrived alone at a traditional market called Kepek in Yogyakarta, when he was a boy about 25 years ago, and Agus grew up among the market vendors who gave him food and cared for him when he fell ill.
According to Indonesian media, the video caught the attention of Agus’ biological family in the neighboring city of Klatten, where the channel was contacted and Agus was reunited with his family.
Agus’ mother revealed in a televised interview that he fled for fear of circumcision, and that she could not forget the day Agus disappeared in 1998, and since that day they have not stopped searching for him.
