On Wednesday, he is set to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, who would like to discuss with him the Senate’s position on the tax package. According to Vystrčil, the meeting will take place in the form of a video conference. Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová should also attend the meeting.

I’m in quarantine ????. We have agreed with the Prime Minister that tomorrow’s meeting on the tax package will still be. Unfortunately, only by video conference.

The Senate will discuss the tax package in December. Babiš would like the upper house to return the proposal to the Chamber of Deputies and delete from it the increase in the tax credit for the taxpayer, which the Chamber of Deputies voted on last week, together with the abolition of the super-gross wage and the reduction of income tax to 15 percent.

According to Babiš, the proposal needs to be “corrected”. To do this, the House needs the Senate to change the proposal and return it to the House. If the law is approved by the senators and signed by the president, people will have more money from the payment not only due to a reduction in income tax, but also due to an increase in the taxpayer’s discount.
