Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken highly of legendary Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The Portuguese ace expressed his gratitude to the Scottish coach for taking him under his wing at 18.
Cristiano Ronaldo first joined Manchester United in 2003 from Portuguese club Sporting CP. It was under Ferguson’s tutelage that the winger started to become one of the greatest players of this generation.
Cristiano Ronaldo has credited his former coach for his success. He insisted the Scotland manager was a great teacher.
He spoke of his time at Old Trafford under the direction of Ferguson: “The boss was the leader, he was the guy that all the players followed, his ideas, his strategy. For me, as I have said many, many times, he is one of my fathers of football that when I came here to Manchester at 18 he put me in the right place. “
Cristiano Ronaldo added: “He teaches me a lot of things where I am today. It’s a bit of a part of him too. So I appreciate what he has done with me”.
