(ANSA) – GENOA, NOV 26 – Last night, in Genoa, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit arrested a 35-year-old Albanian citizen, accused of domestic abuse and aggravated personal injury to his partner. The intervention arose from a report from a neighbor in the Bolzaneto neighborhood who had heard the woman’s calls for help and the screams coming from the apartment next door. Once on site, the military found the victim, a 40-year-old Italian woman, in a state of confusion and with clear signs of aggression on her face. In a strong state of agitation, the woman said she had been involved in a particularly violent argument with her partner, triggered by her intention to end a relationship marked by abuse and violence never reported in the past due to fear. According to what has been reconstructed, the man, unable to accept his partner’s decision, attacked her with kicks and punches, hitting her in the face with such violence that he fractured her nasal septum and then walked away from the house. The Carabinieri, after reassuring the woman and providing initial treatment, immediately took action to track down the attacker, an activity made difficult since the man is homeless. The man was intercepted near Sant’Olcese and stopped before he could definitively disappear. The woman was transported and visited the Villa Scassi hospital where the doctors found injuries with a prognosis of 30 days. The police provided her with all the information on the presence and functionality of the anti-violence centers. The attacker, however, was arrested and transferred to the Genoa Marassi prison.
