(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 17 – The Carabinieri of Capodimonte, in the province of Viterbo, have reported a 22-year-old from Valentano, accused of impersonating a doctor on duty at an ASL medical guard. From what emerged from the military’s investigations, the young man, despite not having the qualification of a doctor of medicine, in a period between January 2023 and February 2024, would have carried out outpatient and home medical visits, practicing on people unaware of the deception, injections, therapies and services that only a real doctor could have provided. Also reported by the Carabinieri were three real doctors from the same medical guard who, despite being aware of the fact that the young man was neither a doctor nor a medical student, witnessed his actions without doing anything to prevent him. The self-styled doctor was charged for illegal practice of a profession. The three real doctors, however, were reported for complicity in the crime. (HANDLE).
