A 17-year-old Cuban teenager has gone viral, after his success story abroad surprised and moved the community, for proving to be an example of courage, perseverance and improvement.
Through TikTok, Dean Pablo Hernández Torres, who has not even reached the age of majority, shared how he has lived four months in Chile, building a future based on starting his working life so early.
While in Cuba, the young man describes, he hardly had any worries because he lived under the shelter of his family, in the South American country he has learned to earn a salary, performing a job that he learned on the Island and getting a job almost immediately.
“Today I have been in Chile for four months. What has a 17-year-old Cuban done all this time? Come with me to see it”, the video began
The young man then explained that his father and his uncle taught him the trade of refrigeration, and that while in Cuba he never practiced it, in Chile he managed to find work very soon and has dedicated himself to it ever since.
“Here it’s different, here you realize where the money came from and that it’s not so easy to look for it,” Dean said.
The maturity that the young man has acquired as a result of his adventure left many of his compatriots amazed, and in the comments several left him comments of admiration for daring to look for something outside the comfort of his country and his home.
Many also applauded his initiative to leave Cuba at such a young age, as they affirm that he will be able to have a lot of savings and start a life sooner.
For now, the young man continues to gather followers, and although he now lives and supports himself, he shows that he is still just a teenager, who likes to watch and create videos, in addition to playing soccer in his free time.
The terrible economic and social situation in Cuba has driven a migratory exodus that has depleted the Island of a large part of its workforce, but which is now seen taking with it increasingly younger inhabitants, who are seeking a better quality of life in the foreign.
