“In the scene when the grandmother had a rooster in her bed, which was in the first part and was played by Mrs. Červená, the rooster jumped on the pelt, she was supposed to threaten him and scold him for polluting her there,” Zdeněk Troška recalled the beginning of the legendary scenes that ultimately could not appear in the film.
“So we put a rooster on that bed and something incredible happened. The rooster, as he had been angry until then, suddenly began to respond to the threats. He was making horrible noises, he was talking to the old lady, he was sticking out his beak, she was threatening him, he was talking back, and we kept the camera on,” he recalled.
