WASHINGTON – Ex president United States of America (USA) George Walker Bush mistakenly called Iraq, didn’t he Ukraine , as a country that Russia invaded. In fact, Iraq is a country that he illegally invaded.

Delivering a speech in Dallas, USA, Bush commented on the political repression in Russia, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has imprisoned his political opponents.

He then said: “The result is non -existence checks and balances in Russia, and one man’s decision to launch a completely unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq.”

He paused for a moment before correcting himself, “I mean, about Ukraine.”

After another pause, he added with a laugh, “Iraq too”, which drew laughter from the audience.

The video of his speech, which wasposting by journalist Michael Williams, has been viewed 3.3 million times on Twitter so far.

“Speaking in Dallas this afternoon, former President George W. Bush made a significant verbal error when discussing the war in Ukraine. He tried to refer to what he described as a ‘completely unjustified and brutal invasion’—but said Iraq, not Ukraine, “Wrote Williams via account @michaeldamianwThursday (19/5/2022).

Bush completes his mistake by simply saying “75” refers to his age.
