The Hospital Coordination of Organ and Tissue Donation for Transplant Purposes of the HGZ No. 197, of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) State of México Oriente, reported that both kidneys were sent to the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) General Hospital “Dr. Gaudencio Gonzalez Garza” La Raza National Medical Center of the IMSS, and the corneas to the Corneal Tissue Bank of the same unit.
The liver was transplanted at the General Hospital of Mexico “Dr. Eduardo Liceaga” of the Federal Ministry of Health; while the musculoskeletal tissue and skin were transferred to the Tissue Bank of the Health Institute of the State of Mexico.
The medical procurement team, made up of specialists from the procurement teams from the institutions receiving the organs and tissues, as well as health personnel from HGZ No. 197, worked intensively during nine hours to achieve the noble action of giving life.
