Robert Lewandowski has reached the next milestone in his career.
Striker Robert Lewandowski of Spanish league leaders FC Barcelona is on his way to third place in an exclusive world football ranking.
Lewandowski scored on Sunday in the league match against Sevilla FC 5:1 home win double pack. It was not just his eleventh and twelfth goal in the current Primera Division season. Instead, the Pole has a total of 366 goals in the top European leagues.
In doing so, he passes a great legend from the champions of the German table FC Bayern Munich. Gerd Müller scored 365 goals in the Bundesliga.
Lewandowski took himself to third place in this ranking. Ahead of him are the leaders Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, these two superstars are still a long way off for the 36-year-old so they may be out of reach. Messi has 496 goals for Barça and Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldo has scored 495 times for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus Turin.
Lewandowski moved from BVB to FC Bayern on a free transfer in 2014. In 2022 he moved to hard transfer poker to Barcelona for a transfer fee of 45 million euros. He is under contract with the Catalans until 2026.
