A young man identified as Anaegbuachara has confessed to killing his mother, grandmother, sister and niece for ritual money in Amaeze village, Enugu State, Nigeria.
The suspect, who confessed to his crime on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, said he killed the victims with poisoned food. According to reports, the victims had shared a meal the previous night before going to bed. The man’s mother, identified as Mama Chijioke Amaeze, had brought her sick mother to her home and was caring for her before the incident.
During police interrogation, the suspect confessed to having committed the crime under the instructions of a marabout. He claimed that his friend, simply identified as “Morroco”, put him in contact with the said marabout, who prepared the poison for him. According to the suspect, the marabout asked him to sacrifice his mother in exchange for wealth. However, her sister and two children visited their mother and also ate the poisoned food.
“He was ordered to poison and kill only his mother, and on the same day he was ordered to carry out the evil act. His sister’s grandmother, sister and two children came to visit him and they all ate together the food he poisoned, that’s how they all died,” wrote a neighbor of the name of Chijinkem Ugwuanyi.
“The only survivor among them is a child around 9 years old, and he was taken to the hospital, but since then he has been mentally unstable. He confessed to the crime on Tuesday and asked for forgiveness. »
