(ANSA) – MILAN, 08 OCT – The Milan Prosecutor’s Office has requested the immediate trial of Domenico Massari, a 58-year-old accused of killing his cellmate Antonio Magrini in the Opera prison in Milan, where Massari was staying on 19 April. serving a life sentence for killing his ex-wife. After the request made by prosecutor Rosaria Stagnaro, investigating judge Luca Milani, who had signed the order on charges of voluntary homicide aggravated by trivial motives and torture and cruelty, will set the start of the trial in the Court of Assizes in Milan . In the interrogation before the judge, Massari confirmed the version given immediately after the crime, explaining that he “had harbored hatred” towards his cellmate, who was in prison for drug-related issues, “for reasons linked to the use of television and the cleanliness of the cell”. Magrini had been strangled with shoelaces and a bathrobe belt, then kicked in the throat and finally with a stick. On 13 July 2019, Massari killed his ex-wife Deborah Ballesio with six gunshots, while she was singing karaoke in the Aquario baths in Savona. Three people were also injured in the shooting, including a little girl, fortunately not seriously. After the murder, the man fled and then handed himself in to Sanremo prison the following day.
