He is Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, next Secretary of National Defense

The president-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, appointed this Friday the Major General with a Diploma of General Staff, Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, as Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) for the next six-year term.

Trevilla Trejo was born on January 8, 1961. He is originally from Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, and graduated from the Heroic Military College as a second lieutenant in Cavalry.

According to official data, he has been in active service since September 1, 1978.

Vocational training:

His training includes the Command and General Staff Course, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Military Administration from the Higher War School; he also has Master’s degrees in Military Administration for Internal Security and National Defense from the National Defense College and in Public Administration from the University of the Valley of Mexico.

  • Deputy Chief of Staff in the Border Area, Amparo Aguatinta, Chiapas.
  • Head of the Monitoring, Coordination and Statistics Group of the National Defense General Staff, Lomas de Sotelo, CDMX
  • Chief of Staff of the 6th Military Zone, Saltillo, Coahuila
  • Deputy Chief of Administration and Logistics of the National Defense Staff, Lomas de Sotelo, CDMX
