Pep Guardiola is considered to be one of the greatest coaches in the world of contemporary football. Having led Barcelona through one of the best periods in the club’s history, Pep currently shines in his role as Manchester City manager.
Under Pep, City are currently aiming for a third consecutive Premier League title and a first Champions League title.
But Xavi, the former Barcelona star and current coach of the club, has come out with his opinions about Pep. Xavi also played for Barca under Pep.
Xavi was vocal about Pep’s excellence while talking to The Times.
“Guardiola can be considered one of the greatest coaches of all time. The time I played under him gave me a different experience from playing under other coaches.
Pep’s excellence cannot be understated by any standard. He is not human. It is a very different and bigger phenomenon,’ said Xavi.
“I respect Pep as a coach and as a player,” Xavi added.
Xavi was also part of the Barcelona team that won two Champions Leagues under Pep in the 2008-2012 season.
Meanwhile, under Xavi, Barcelona are currently the points table toppers in La Liga with 59 points with 19 wins from 22 matches.
Pep’s Manchester City are second in the Premier League with 52 points with 16 wins from 24 matches.
