Mar-a-lago is a luxury property and members’ club owned by former President Donald Trump. The club is located in Palm Beach Florida, about an hour’s drive north of Miami.
Property mogul Jeff Greene, who joined the club in 2010, says up front financial time who doesn’t think the former president has any friends, despite the fact that Trump is always surrounded by many people in Mar-a-Lago.

– Everything is transactional. They want to be close to him because he’s a former president. Trump likes people to humor him (…) and tell him how good he is, Greene tells the paper.
Adds:
– I don’t think he has any friends. I’m serious: I have a friend who always golfs with him, but he’s never been to the White House. I don’t even think he was invited, he says.

Good relationship
Greene, who is a Democrat, ran for both Senate and gubernatorial elections in 2010 and 2018, respectively, but lost both times.
Before the real estate mogul ran for governor in 2018, he and Trump are said to have had a good relationship. However, it was only because he’s a billionaire, Greene believes.
– Trump used to come to my table – I think it was because I’m a billionaire. He likes billionaires. It’s important to him. He likes the rich and famous, he says.

During his presidency, Trump changed his residence address from Trump Tower in Manhattan to New York City to luxury property in Mar-a-Lago.
The 10,000 square meter building in Mar-a-Lago ended up in the hands of Donald Trump in 1985 for the tidy sum of 10 million dollars, corresponding to NOK 85,856,000 at the average exchange rate for that year.
Built between 1924 and 1927, the 126-room luxury property was one of several homes to Marjorie Merriweather Post, described as one of America’s most successful businesswomen.
In the early 1990s, Trump converted it from a private residence to a private club.
