Unable to attend school because of his height, he has only recently learned to write his name – who is the 20-year-old Iranian who has been named the world’s new shortest person by Guinness?
Afshin Ismail Gaderzadeh (20) from Iran, who was born weighing 700 g, now weighs 6 kg and is only 65.24 cm tall, is the latest record holder and holds the title of the shortest person in the world, writes the site “Crnobelo”.
He is almost 7cm shorter than the last recorded shortest person in the Guinness Book of World Records, Eduard “Niño” Hernandez (36) from Colombia.
“Because of the height treatment, my son was prevented from attending school, so he was unable to learn to read,” says his mother.
Here are some facts about him:
His dream was to become a builder like his father, but because of his height there is almost no work for him.
“Phones are heavy for me to carry, but I still manage to use them,” says Afshin.
He visited the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building in the world, because it was one of his biggest wishes.
He lives modestly with his parents in the family home, but although they work hard, they are unable to provide enough funds for the medicines and therapies he needs to receive.
Although the shortest person in the world can walk independently, still in order to go somewhere, he is constantly accompanied by one of his parents, because they have to carry him in their arms.
Because of his unusual appearance, he is very popular on social networks and has hired a person to edit his Instagram profile.
