Bad taste on Facebook or incitement to hatred against a gendarme ? The tribunal decided. This Monday a Ardennes 28-year-old was sentenced to 35 hours work of general interest for “Provocation not followed by effect”.
It specifically targets a gendarme
On November 7, wishing to alert on a police check, he published a message on his Facebook account that was ambiguous to say the least. “Roll over him”, he wrote in particular by targeting one of the gendarmes. Informed of this message, the soldier immediately lodged a complaint, reports Radio 8 Ardennes.
At the helm of the Charleville-Mézières criminal court, the young man with a clean criminal record admitted the facts. While specifying that his comment was intended above all ironic. “There was nothing mean, I have nothing against this gentleman. He took it badly, that’s all ”, he tried to plead. He will however assure that the gendarme in question “annoys everyone in Nouzonville ”, accusing the latter of doing “Repression“.
