An individual filmed himself on Snapchat on October 2 insulting firefighters and stealing equipment from them while they were in action. He was arrested in the afternoon and an investigation was opened by the Créteil police station.
The video of a young individual presenting himself on social networks as “Arab and Muslim suburban” made the rounds of social networks during the day of October 2. He can be seen filming himself on Snapchat live as he steals material from a fire engine intervening at a school in Ablon-sur-Seine in the south-eastern suburb of Paris, as reported Le Figaro.
Also posting photos of the firefighters, the man who calls himself Rayan commented on the pictures by calling the firefighters “son of a bitch”. He also threatened the police in front of his tens of thousands of subscribers by imitating the sound of machine gun fire and declaring: “I will go to the police station, Allah Akbar, I will fuck them.”
The video did not fail to react to police unions. Matthieu Valet, spokesperson and deputy national secretary of the Independent Union of Police Commissioners (SICP), for example tweeted: “Theft in a fire truck, threatens to carry out an attack in a #Police police station. For Samuel Paty, it also started with words, threats, we know the result. This sinister character must be held accountable to the #justice».
The Union of National Police Commissioners (SCPN) had already assured that the individual would be arrested quickly, before congratulating the agents who carried out his arrest: Theft, apology for terrorism. “He will be less clever at 6 am when he hears a thud on his front door […] Well done to the colleagues who went to his home to tell him that his game was over, ”the union said.

In the premises of the national police, Rayan posted another photo on social networks to show where he was but without specifying the nature of the exchanges with the police. The Paris fire brigade has filed a complaint and the Créteil police station has opened an investigation. The police headquarters assured that the material stolen in the vehicle had been found nearby.
The individual still tried to justify his action by pleading the “joke that was badly taken” and defended having wanted to insult the entire body of the firefighters. “Yesterday they were being clever, they went into school and they jostled everyone, I’m just saying fuck the firefighters of France who are being clever […] I wanted to break the balls a little, ”he justified himself.
