“Defending Ukraine from Russian invasion means rejecting the law of the jungle. In this case, being neutral in the conflict is the wrong position,” European Foreign Minister Josep Borel wrote in a blog post.
He added that putting the two sides in the conflict on an equal footing means not distinguishing between the attacker and the attacker.
“Such neutrality may have different motives, but in practice it means support for Russia and its aggressive war,” Borel said.
He added that, contrary to Putin’s expectations, this war would be a decisive moment for the strengthening of Ukraine as a sovereign nation and for the reaffirmation of its identity different from that of Russia.
