Siwon Kim from group Glam starts YouTube
“A woman who has experienced the ups and downs of the world”
Suspended sentence for past Lee Byung-hun threat case
AfreecaTV BJ Kim Si-won (formerly known as Dahee, 30), a member of the group Glam, who demanded 5 billion won for distributing actor Lee Byung-hun’s private videos, has become a YouTuber.
On the 17th, Kim Si-won posted a video titled ‘The most asked question about why we are together’ on his YouTube channel ‘Kim Si-won’. The description of the video included the phrase, ‘A message from a woman who has been through the hardships of the world and her friend who sees death every day to those who are thinking about taking on a challenge.’
In the video, he announced that he started YouTube with a friend of 20 years and said, “Even if there is something I want to do, I am secretly timid and tend to procrastinate, but this friend is there to help me out. My friends believe in me and support me no matter what I do.” He added, “This friend in particular cheers me on, saying, ‘I like what you do’ and ‘You’re a courageous friend.'” Kim Si-won’s friend said, “There was a part where Si-won was intimidated by the work he used to do, and we talked a lot about that. Since there is something I want to do, I want to work hard and give positive energy to the viewers. It’s a dream in my heart.” “I will work hard until the day I achieve it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Siwon Kim debuted as a member of the group Glam in 2012 as Dahee and began his career as a singer. Afterwards, in 2014, he and model Lee threatened to distribute private videos secretly filmed while drinking with Lee Byung-hun and others online, and demanded 5 billion won. It is known that the video contained Lee Byung-hun’s obscene remarks. As a result, Lee Byung-hun filed a complaint against the two people to the police, bringing the incident to the surface. In 2015, the second trial court sentenced Kim Si-won to one year in prison, ruling, “The victim stated in the appeal trial that he did not want the defendants to be punished, the crime was only an attempt, and the defendants showed deep reflection on their mistakes during the six months they were detained.” Sentenced to two years probation.
After the incident, he changed his name to Siwon Kim and became a BJ for AfreecaTV. It is reported that he earned about 2.4 billion won last year, but earlier this year, he posted a handwritten letter on his channel’s notice board with the title ‘Thank you all’, seemingly hinting at retirement.
