Corona rules: Not everyone wears a mask
–
In the early summer of last year, the Federal Center for Health Education presented the AHAL rules. The precautions are designed to minimize the risk of infection with the coronavirus. The four letters stand for keeping your distance, observing hygiene (i.e. coughing and sneezing in the crook of your arm and washing your hands), wearing an everyday mask and ventilating.
–
Most people follow these rules. But a few feel restricted in their freedom. That’s why they resist – not only in Germany: some people around the world refuse to wear a mask. This had costly consequences for a drunk taxi rider in Canada.

Expensive taxi ride: You have to pay a fine of 440 euros

According to local police in British Columbia Province, a man ordered a taxi on New Year’s Eve. When he got in, he was already very drunk. He neither kept his distance nor wore a mask. Instead, he is said to have even touched the taxi driver’s face, according to the police report.
–
The driver then asked the man several times to adhere to the Corona rules. But he didn’t seem to care. Therefore, the taxi driver immediately notified the police. Instead of waiting for her, however, he drove the man himself to the nearest station.

There the drunk defied the police’s instructions. So he had to be dragged out of the car and then put in a sobering cell. He was only allowed to leave when he was sober again, reports the police. To make matters worse, he now also has to pay 690 Canadian dollars (the equivalent of 440 euros) – among other things because of disregard of the corona rules

According to Johns Hopkins University, 616,134 Covid-19 cases and 16,098 deaths have been registered in Canada so far.
