Max Verstappen criticized the team during the GP of Spain. According to Verstappen, Red Bull had to focus on its own race instead of looking at Hamilton and Mercedes. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner does not blame Verstappen.
“This was really the highest we could get today,” Horner told Sky Sports. Max gets the most out of it. Mercedes had a faster car today, we are satisfied with what Max did today. ”
Verstappen strongly criticized the strategy on the on-board radio, but Christian Horner protects Verstappen.
“He doesn’t have the whole picture like our strategists have. He is of course ambitious and wants to push. You can hear that his engineer is very clear to him and that is his job, ”says Horner.
“We didn’t want it in traffic, otherwise we would have had tire problems,” Horner explains for Red Bull’s strategy.
