Reynold Koranteng about work
What is the most difficult part of moderating?
I don’t really know. In my opinion, moderation is equal to nature, one should not play anything. Acting is hard because you pretend to be something you are not. But the moderator is supposed to be natural, he doesn’t play for anything. From my point of view, moderation is not difficult.
And has there been a situation where you thought you stopped enjoying your work?
No never. If I stopped enjoying moderation, I couldn’t do it. You can’t do something that doesn’t fill you in the long run. I have been at Nova since 1994, which is 27 years old. But on the other hand, of course, there were days when I was mad at myself, for sure. I felt like I was failing, but I never thought I was tired of moderation.
Failing? After all, you are an ace in your field …
One has to constantly work on oneself and try to improve. Sometimes I say to myself that I should have asked another question, asked a different way … I didn’t ask here, I didn’t have time here. I always regret the most that there is no time left. In this regard. When a person is satisfied with himself, it does not force him to move on and that is a problem.
Has improvisation always been easy for you?
Yeah sure. I much rather improvise than stick to scripts. My life improvises with me too, I’m used to it and it suits me. On the contrary, when I have something strictly prescribed, I have a bit of a problem with it.
If you didn’t live by moderation, what would you be?
That’s the right question, but I don’t know. I thought about it some time ago and I would probably be hanging around aviation, I enjoy flying. Or something else in their field.
Rey about travel and family
How did you enjoy the summer?
At the beginning of July, my family and I were on vacation. I always divide it and we spend part of the holidays in the Czech Republic, part abroad.
How’s the family?
I believe that well. The children enjoyed the holidays, the daughter Vanessa flew to the Czech Republic after a long time, which she could not due to covid measures. He is currently studying abroad (lives in the north of Europe, editor’s note).
When does the daughter leave and plan to return to the Czech Republic?
Vanessa was already here in May, she left on the first of September. She wanted to accompany Leontýn to first class with us. She is studying international business and since she has a Finnish friend and got an interesting job there, she has no plans to return at all.
Is there a country you would like to see?
There are many of them, but mainly about Vietnam.
Why Vietnam?
I dealt a lot with the history of Vietnam, its colonial and postcolonial era. It is an extremely interesting country, the Vietnamese are extremely successful as a nation. During the 20th century, they defeated three great powers, France, America, China. They united a divided state. He faces a lot of problems that I would like to see up close and not from storytelling. Plus, they’re incredibly hardworking. And all of my acquaintances who were there agreed that it is a very interesting corner of the world.
