An assailant broke in and opened fire at Vancouver International Airport, Canada, The Canadian Press and IHIT reported. At least one person was reported killed.
For the moment information on the case is still scarce.
Employees of companies operating in the area report that they had heard numerous shots fired in the area.
Police say they are looking for one or more suspects after the shooting. An assailant managed to escape from the airport by car, having previously shot at police officers.
In a statement on Twitter from Vancouver Airport it is only said that the airport is open, safe and flights work.
IHIT is deploying to YVR. A man was shot and killed this afternoon near the domestic departure terminal. Media availability later this evening in Richmond. Time/location TBA shortly.
