He buys a company to hire his mother in remission from cancer

Maxence was only just entering his twenties when he bought a building painting company to recruit his mother, in remission, who until then had only been refused employment.

Forget all the hackneyed recipes for entrepreneurial success. What if family comes first, especially when it needs help?

He hires his mother in remission after breast cancer

Maxence Laze’s mother, Christelle, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2017 when she was 41. Despite the not very optimistic predictions of her doctors, she takes an experimental treatment and recovers.

In 2021, while she is in remission, she starts looking for a job. But the rejections keep coming.

“Pass an age, pass an illness, you just have to stay at Pôle Emploi”, notes Maxence bitterly at the microphone of BFMTV.

At the age of 22, Maxence, a house painter, then decided to buy a company, Euzenat paint located in Laval in Mayenne, and to hire his mother there.

bet won

On paper, it’s a risky bet, in fact, it’s a winning bet.

“Even the accountant told us he didn’t expect to have such positive numbers,” he said.

Maxence and his mother manage. Business is even flourishing since Maxence has expanded the team now made up of four employees. And to hire, he is inflexible on a specific criterion: he only takes people who have health problems whose working conditions he then adjusts to adapt to their needs.

From four, they should soon increase to six since they are expected to recruit two new people in the coming months to come and reinforce the Euzenat Peinture team.
