Şenol Şanlı, who examines and photographs the planets and their movements with the telescope he manufactures at home, said, “I know the stars in the sky like the streets of my neighborhood.”
Şenol Şanlı, who lives in Bursa and is very interested in space-related issues, produced his own telescope with his research.
Şanlı, who has been following the planets and taking pictures of them every day with the many telescopes he has built so far, also took pictures of those moments by measuring the movements of the moon throughout the year and its distance from the Earth moment by moment.
Şanlı shared the photos he took with everyone on his social media accounts. Şanlı, who is a science and space enthusiast, started to transfer all the information he knew about the telescope to children in schools.
“I KNOW THE STARS IN THE SKY LIKE THE STREETS OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD”
Expressing that he retired from the textile business, Şenol Şanlı made the following statements:
“I have been dealing with telescope construction and astro photography as an amateur for about 22 years. I make observations with the telescope that I made myself and I make observations for those who are curious. I share the knowledge I have learned in seminars at school. I always had a curiosity. I know the stars in the sky like the streets of my neighborhood. There are 88 constellations in the sky, I observe them all.
“I TAKE 12 SEPARATE PHOTOS OF THE FULL MOON”
I took 12 different photos of the full moon for 12 months. I put them together in one frame. In May 2021, the Moon approached the closest distance to the Earth, 357 thousand kilometers. In December, it traveled up to 405 thousand kilometers. I also observe planets. If you look west after sunset, you can see Venus, Saturn and the planet Jupiter very brightly. We enjoy observing them.”
