At the top of his game, the famous Afrobeat singer David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido never misses the opportunity to confide in his beginnings. The Nigerian star has just proved it again by paying a vibrant tribute to one of his colleagues to whom he owes his success.
Invited recently by journalist Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, host of the show Bounce Radio, the famous Nigerian pop star Davido confided in his career. Asked about the secret of his success, the singer did not hesitate to wink at his colleague, Augustine Miles Kelechi, known as Tekno.
According to him, it was this man who relaunched his career while he was still in the shadows. Indeed, Davido revealed that his hit song, “IF,” was written by Tekno. Aware that this song revealed him to the public and put him in the spotlight, the DBW producer confessed that he owes all his success to Tekno.
“Till this day, I am still grateful to Tekno. Tekno revived me musically, I didn’t have a hit for almost a year. Tekno wrote the song “IF” and he wanted me to record the song. He wanted me to do it because I’m a good guy,” he said.
