Now, however, there is technology that makes work safer – and increases efficiency.

At the same time, in its footsteps follows a large load on the country’s logistics center, and the accident could easily be at hand.
– I would say that incidents happen quite frequently. Many situations are dangerous, there will be no accident but it could have been, says Pär Odén and continues:
– A typical situation can be that a truck is inside the trailer and is loading the last thing when the driver starts the truck and rolls away. Fortunately, it usually stops after a few meters, but the person in the truck can be seriously injured.
Therefore, Hörmann has developed a mechanical wheel blocking system where the truck backs up between two steel profiles, then the driver locks a beam against the wheel.
– The beam must be in contact with the wheel and be locked for the truck to gain access to the dock, loading cannot begin until the car is locked, which is indicated to the driver by a signal light that changes from red to green.
The construction ensures not only the position of the truck during loading and unloading. It also ensures that the truck is in the correct position when docked and minimizes the risk of back-up damage, says Odén:
– You get safe handling from start to finish. To be able to release the blockage and drive away, the cargo door must be closed.
He also points out that the wheel lock must be usable by all drivers – regardless of language skills:
– We strive to make the process as user-friendly as possible, as imports and exports have increased sharply where international drivers drive.
After a lot of attention accidents at workplaces around the country, Odén notes an increasing interest among logistics companies in a safer work environment:
– The market tackles these issues in a completely different way than before. Authorities, regulations and other bodies are called upon to ensure loading and unloading in a better way. In this way, our products are just right in time.

– Partly human, you want a safe and secure workplace for your employees and other people who are at the workplace. Partly the financial one, when an accident or incident creates downtime where everyone involved becomes stressed and delayed.
