Police said the working time restriction was carried out because there were many complaints from ojol partners who often received non-tariff payments. However, Gojek, who implemented the policy, said that the restriction of opening hours was done for the safety of the partners.
As is known, Kampung Bahari is famous for its stigma ‘drug village’. However, the police denied that it was related to the vulnerability of drugs and crime in Kampung Bahari.
Restrictions on night working hours
Ojol partners no longer serve delivery and collection orders to and from Kampung Bahari starting at 21:00 WIB until 05:00 WIB. With the implementation of these regulations, ojol drivers cannot receive orders to and from Kampung Bahari during these hours.
North Jakarta Metro Police Deputy AKBP Erlin Tang Jaya said: Ojol operational restrictions in Kampung Bahari not because of the vulnerability to criminal acts in the area.
“Don’t ban, but restrict these Gojeks (partners) from entering the area. (Kampung Bahari) is no longer vulnerable,” said Erlin quoted by Antara on Saturday (10/29/2022).
Police reveal inappropriate tariff problems
Erlin said restricting ojol opening hours in Kampung Bahari is the applicator’s policy. The enforcement of the night time schedule in the Kampung Bahari area is done by the enforcement company as a result of complaints from ojol partners who often receive payments that do not match the specified rate.
“Actually, the problem with Gojek and the residents around is that I know when there is an order for goods in the Kampung Bahari area, the Gojek (partner) delivers it but is not paid (according to the payment that should be)” he said Erlin.
