HOUSTON, Texas. – An officer from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) died early Monday morning when she shot herself after arguing with her boyfriend, according to Houston Police.

Around 12:30 am, police found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head at Houston Fire Station #6 on Washington Avenue. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

After an investigation, police said it was a Harris County officer who reportedly shot herself after arguing with her boyfriend. The couple had left a nightclub when they began to argue in the vehicle that was driven by him. The officer was off duty at the time.

After the shot, the man, who is a firefighter, drove to the station to be helped. From there they took her to the hospital. On Monday morning, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the officer’s death. “Keep her, her family and our agency in your prayers,” wrote in his social networks.
