“I mainly concentrated on not hitting the opponent. With a bit of luck, it fell to me there and we are very happy that we scored again to the full,” rejoiced Ščotka after his team’s third extra-league triumph in a row.
He admitted that the Lithuanian goalkeeper Matej Tomek, who worked in Brno in the past, troubled Kometa for a long time with his excellent performance. “He was definitely making fun of us. He caught an excellent match. So does our Honza Kavan. At eighteen, he is doing great. It copes well in a stormy atmosphere with a lot of pressure. It’s only good for us,” praised the young goalkeeper from Ščotka, who is getting an opportunity instead of Dominik Furch, who is recovering from a long-term injury.

The Komet hockey players sent a respectable 49 shots on the Lithuanian goal. “It resulted from our constant pressure. Unfortunately, we didn’t score goals for a long time. In the end, we succeeded, and the three points remained at home, for God’s sake,” he breathed a sigh of relief.
Ščotka praised his old partner in defense Marko Hrbas, who came from the first league Zlín in exchange for striker Petr Holík. Hrbas worked in Brno last season. “His knowledge of the environment made it easier for him. He played an excellent match,” he claimed.
On Wednesday evening, Holík also did well, scoring twice and assisting on another goal in the first league match against Dukla Jihlava for Zlín. “We registered it in the cabin after our match. May Peter continue to do well and come back before the next season,” Ščotka wished his recent teammate.

I am pleased with the solid individual balance, but the Comets’ points in the table are much more important to me,” he says.
The Brno team will have the opportunity to extend the current successful series of extra league duels in the next two matches on home ice. They will welcome Vítkovice on Friday and Liberec on Sunday. “The program is packed now, so we are very happy that we don’t have to travel anywhere outside of Brno.
